Pons Strategy documentation
Everything below is enforced by the contracts unless stated otherwise. Numbers given as defaults can be changed at launch within the stated limits.
What is Pons Strategy
Pons Strategy is a launchpad built on top of Pons V2 on Robinhood Chain. A token launched here is a normal Pons token (same bonding curve, same graduation to Uniswap V4, same options) with one difference: its creator fees are sent to a Strategy Vault instead of a wallet.
The vault uses those fees to buy a portfolio of target assets chosen by the creator, takes profit on-chain when a position reaches its target, and uses every profit to buy back and burn the token. It runs automatically and cannot be paused, redirected or emptied without a public timelock.
Where the fees go
Every trade on a Pons token pays a 1% Pons/Uniswap fee plus the creator tax (2% to 10%, chosen at launch; 2% by default, so 3% in total). The creator tax is split three ways by the vault:
- Flywheel: always exactly 1 point of tax (1% of all trading volume), converted to ETH and sent to the $STRAT flywheel.
- Creator: a share chosen at launch, at most 50% (49% with a 2% tax, since the flywheel point must leave something to the strategy), paid to the creator wallet at every collection. Frozen forever.
- Strategy: everything else, kept in the vault to buy targets.
With the defaults (2% creator tax, 20% creator share): for 100 of trading volume, 1 goes to the flywheel, 0.4 to the creator and 0.6 to the strategy. A higher creator tax shifts the balance toward the strategy: at 4% tax with the same 20% share, 1 goes to the flywheel, 0.8 to the creator and 2.2 to the strategy. The flywheel point is fixed; everything above it belongs to the creator and the strategy.
Fees are collected in the token's pair currency (ETH, or the tokenized stock it is paired with). The flywheel share is always converted to ETH before being sent.
The strategy lifecycle
- Collect. Fees accrue on the bonding curve (pre-graduation) and in the Pons escrow (post-graduation). Anyone can call
collect(); the keeper does it automatically. The creator and flywheel shares are paid out, the rest stays in the vault. - Buy. Once the strategy pot reaches the buy threshold, the vault buys the targets according to their weights. Each purchase is added to the position at cost: positions are tracked by average entry price (a natural DCA).
- Take profit. A position can only be sold when it is worth at least cost × (1 + profit target). Below that the contract reverts: nobody, not even the creator or the keeper, can sell early.
- Buy back & burn. The proceeds of every profitable sale buy the creator's token (on its curve or its V4 pool, detected automatically) and burn it. Always. There is no other destination for profits.
Targets
A strategy holds 1 to 5 targets with weights that sum to 100%. Two kinds of targets exist:
- Any graduated Pons V2 token. Anyone can add one, at launch or later: the route is derived on-chain from the Pons factory (its Uniswap V4 pool). Tokens still on their bonding curve are refused until they graduate.
- Curated tokens outside Pons (PONS itself, Cash Cat, Thinking Cat…), added by the Pons Strategy team with a verified Uniswap V3 route. Ask us on X to list one.
The default list is sorted by market cap and shows each token's logo, address and market cap, all read on-chain.
Paired assets
A token can be paired with ETH or with any asset Pons supports: tokenized stocks and ETFs (NVDA, TSLA, AAPL, SPY, QQQ…), gold (GLD), cbBTC, USDG. Fees, thresholds, positions and profit targets are then denominated in that asset. Behind the scenes the vault bridges through Uniswap V3 to ETH whenever a target requires it, and always sends ETH to the flywheel.
The $STRAT flywheel
The flywheel is a contract that receives one point of tax from every token launched on the platform. It has no withdraw function: the ETH it holds can only be used to buy $STRAT, the platform token, and burn it. Anyone can trigger the burn; the keeper does it once enough ETH has accumulated.
A second source feeds it: on this site, a creator who changes their targets after launch first buys and burns $STRAT (a small fixed dollar amount shown in the dashboard). This rule lives in the interface, not in the vault contract.
Live numbers, history and the burn button are on the Flywheel page.
What the creator controls
- Creator share of the fees (≤ 50%)
- Profit target (+5% to +400%)
- Creator wallet (payout address)
- Creator tax (a Pons setting, 2% to 10%)
- Targets and their weights (a removed target keeps its open position but stops receiving fees)
- Buy threshold (above a minimum per asset)
Emergency exit. The creator can request an exit; it becomes executable after a public 7-day timelock (an on-chain event everyone can see) and can be cancelled before. It is the only way funds can leave the strategy without going through a burn.
Launching: 1 tx or 2 tx
Two transactions (recommended). You launch on Pons from your own wallet, with the fee recipient set to your future vault address (computed in advance). Pons and every bot see you as the deployer. The second transaction creates the vault at that exact address and activates the strategy. If you stop between the two, the form remembers your launch and lets you finish later; fees simply wait in the Pons escrow until the vault exists.
One transaction. Simpler: the factory launches on Pons and creates the vault in the same call. Pons then shows the Pons Strategy factory as deployer.
Every Pons option is available in both modes: paired asset, dev-buy, creator wallet, creator tax, snipe-tax exemptions, image, socials.
The keeper
Contracts never act on their own. The keeper is a bot run by Pons Strategy that calls collect, executeBuy, takeProfit and the flywheel burn at the right moments, with real quotes and slippage protection. It has no special power: every function it calls is either public or limited to what the contract allows anyway. If the keeper stopped, anyone could call the same functions.
Risks and limits
- Target assets can go down. A position below its target is simply held until it recovers; it is never sold at a loss by the strategy.
- Trading volume can dry up: no volume, no fees, no buys.
- Taxes add friction to every trade, like on any taxed token.
- Routes depend on DEX liquidity (Uniswap V3/V4 on Robinhood Chain). Thin liquidity means worse prices for the strategy.
- The contracts are new. They have unit and mainnet-fork test coverage but no external audit yet.
